Popular actress Sneha is in the news for some reason or the other. The latest is the alleagation that she entered a temple wearing slippers. A picture carried by a Tamil magazine showed Sneha (clad in a salwar kameez and footwear) walking along with her father Rajaraman but it is not clear if she was inside the temple as reported.
According to a release from Hindu Munnani Party Chief Sridharan, “Sneha has to apologize for hurting the sentiments of the scores of devotees who had thronged the Girivalam festival at Tiruvannamalai. We are planning for an agitation in front of Sneha’s house if the actress fails to heed to our request.”
On enquiry, Sneha has clarified why she wore footwear inside the Arunachaleswar Temple in Tiruvannamalai (which raised a public outcry) two days ago. She said that the specially designed footwear protects her feet and she wears them continuously after she broke her feet in a mishap two years ago.
“The slipper made of cloth is a protection like band aid. I have explained the reasons to one Arjun Sampath of Hindu Munnani Organisation and he has accepted the same,” said Sneha, effectively putting a lid to the controversy.
