Basking in the glory of Murali Cine Arts’ Jaganmohini is oomph girl Namitha. Meeting the press post the release of the film she said, “Jaganmohini is a u turn in my career. It’s a powerful female role. I have got 4 such offers now from Tamil filmmakers after the release.” The film is a remake of the yesteryear hit and stars Raja, Nila and Kota Srinivasa Rao as well.
Though, her Indira Vizha may not have gone down so well as expected with the audiences, Namitha is unfazed and confident. “I have one film in Kannada and two in Telugu. I play a cop in one film called Deshadrohi. I have done the stunts myself,” she says proudly.
Rubbishing rumours that she is Bollywood bound she says, “I would rather be a queen in a small city than a small fish in a big one.” That Namitha is looking for performance more than glamour is quite evident. “Glamour can only last for some time. I want people to know that I can act,’ she signs off.
