Happy Birthday AR Rahman

This is a very special day for all the music lovers because it's the birthday of the twin Oscar winner A.R.Rahman. The musician who brought great glory to Indian Film music with his twin Oscars at the same stage and same film. No one from India has done it.

We, Cinema18 and fans wish our Great Rahman with many more birthdays like this.

We love you Rahman.

Enthiran Review - Shankar made a brilliant bull shit

Enthiran - the much awaited movie... I sat with all the expectations. The movie started with the title and not any intro song like any other Rajini movie. It went straight to the subject and Rajini was a scientist, Aish his lover. He invents a Robot for the Indian army to replace soldiers and makes such a robot, but the robot fails the AIRD test due to the lack of knowledge of feelings, recognizing good and evil.

So Vasi- Rajini makes the robot to get the human feelings and that will turn the robot as his competition in the game of love. Of course Aish will reject. Because of this the robot fails in the Military test and Vasi will be disappointed and destroys it.

Rajini's professor and villan, is a rival to Rajini's outstanding invention. He finds the dismantled robot and modifys its code and turn it into an evil machine. At one point it kills the villan and starts producing the clones of himself. So its thousands of Rajini robot all over the place.

It also kidnaps Aish, The hero Rajini will fight against it and removes the dirty chip from the robot to bring it to normal. After all these chaos, the court ask to dismantle it and the robot will be put into a museum for students to study.

Pros:
A.R. Rahman's music keeps you seated and the background score is excellent.
Rajini has done his part fairly.
Aish - nice hip movements.

Cons:
Shankar - He made a brilliant bull shit in Graphics. It is not natural.
Can't such an experienced director sense the pulse of the audience?

The car chase scene, the Merc has been hit a number of times and the visuals show the crushed front side and in the next shot it comes with no damage in the frontside.
Car jumping scene - totally fucked up.
2 Sumos flying when Benz hits them from back - all are mere local graphics and stunts.

In the promotions, most of the cine artists and technicians were praising Shankar to be the first Tamil director in Hollywood? BULL SHIT, with this movie he is not even eligible to be a light boy at Hollywood.

Mosquito scene and talking is totally irritating and those mosquito names are more irritating. Not necessary at all.

Songs - Most of the songs are misplaced in the movie. Only 'Irumbilae oru Irudhayam', 'Kaadhal anukal', 'Arima' and the 'Chitti Theme' were ok in the movie.

Graphics - Idea was good but output is mere shit.

Remember Spiderman 3 graphics - the 'sand man', spiderman, 'Black evil spider' and the excellent graphics. Do you know where those were done? NOT IN HOLLYWOOD, it was done in CHENNAI, INDIA by 'Sony Imageworks', that is in Tidel Park.

Story line - Usual story that is already seen in iRobot and concept of worm from Independence day.

Costumes - Robotic costumes looks very local and it was like watching Ram Narayan's local film Graphics.

Cinematography - Randy has done a good job in 'Varanam Aayiram' may be Gautham Menon has a better sense of Cinematography.

Enthiran Audio Review

Its ultimate, what can one expect in a ROBOTIC movie.. All ROBOTIC music, but how much can you take it? Trust me! You can take in the entire 'Enthiran' music album. AR Rahman has proved it again that that he is worth the twin Oscars.

I'm not a Rahman fan, but I can boldly say that Rahman is simply Great! All songs are extremely good. It remembers me about the old Rahman music... like 'Thiruda Thiruda', Pudhiya Mugam, its like all the synthesizer music and lot of robotic music that make you wonder about what the instrument Rahman has used.

Take it this way...Listern to this order..

1. ' Irumbilaye oru Idhayam mulaikutho' : This song is sung by the Great Rahman, its simply superb! You will like it just by listerning to the first line. What a tune, Its God's gift to Rahman!
Nobody could have thought about such a tune for that kind of 'ok' lyrics. The music has taken the song to different heights, Rahman voice takes it to another higher altitude.

2. 'Arima Arima' : Sung by Hari haran, another great hit for him, the first intro lines are written for both Rahman and Rajini. Excellent orchestration.

3. 'Boom Boom Robo Theme' : What a bass? its excellent. It blows my car speakers! I use sony receiver and JBL speakers. USE THE ORIGINAL 'ENTHIRAN' AUDIO CD FOR GREAT SOUND EFFECTS, THOSE ARE FILTERED ONCE IT IS CONVERTED TO MP3.

4. 'Kilimanjaro' : It is not a folk, it a rhythmic song, lyrics could have been better, Rahman has made it pleasant to ears.

5. 'Puthiya Manitha' : I ts the intro song where Kathija Rahman has sung. Its another great piece for an intro.

6. 'Boom Boom' : sung by Yogi, Rap is ok but why Rahman chose Yogi, Blaze would be far better than Yogi. Blaze's lyrics are good and his Raps are excellent.

USE THE ORIGINAL 'ENTHIRAN' AUDIO CD FOR GREAT SOUND EFFECTS, THOSE ARE FILTERED ONCE IT IS CONVERTED TO MP3.

So you miss the quality by 10 times, imagine how much you miss! Trust me there are sound in this album that can be felt and not heard.

Rajini Kaanth on AR Rahman

Superstar Rajinikaanth, on the stage called AR Rahman as a Siddha, a Yogi, he meant that they the persons without ego and heavy head. That is very true. The more exciting and surprising part is that, Rajini is a very simple person, I have seen him in Chennai, in a hospital, when he visited a person who was admited. He was very simple in plain white clothing, simple and down to earth who ever wished him.

You can never see such a humble person in India, imagine such a person calling AR Rahman as a simple, ego-less person. This is the best complement from Rajini for AR Rahman.

A 'Siddha' is the greates saint in the Hindu Religion, who is able to talk to God and the God's blessings are always on him. Without God's blessings one man cannot do this. AR Rahman is the Genius, Siddha, Yogi as far as the Musical domain is concerned.

He made the whole world to lend their ears to Indian music. I'm really proud to live in this era and to be an Indian.

Siddha and Yogi people who can win this entire world with just one thought, they are very powerful, Where does AR Rahman gets his music, just from his thought, God speaks to us through him. No matter if its Allah or Christ or Krishna, all three of them ask us to be compassionate towards other beings. This is what Rahman does, he is very kind and loving person. He has already mentioned this on the Oscar stage, 'I have a choice between Love and hate, I chose love and I'm here'. That pure love towards other beings has made him a siddha.

The great Siddha 'Vallalar' has done this before 150 years, its is the truth, you can check by yourself by visiting ' Vadalur' in Tamil Nadu State, India. He was the Siddha who transformed his body into light body and conquered death. It is unbelievable, but it has been done and proved scientifically by Vallalr.

Endhiran and SDM in top 10 in itunes store

Endhiran is the top selling album in US and UK, we also have Slum Dog Millionaire still in the top sellers list.

The songs are good and its futuristic, it is a real challenge to give the entire album in a robotic music. Rahman has done his best to get the songs as they required in a ROBO film. Robotic music is one difficult thing to do, imagine doing it for the entire film. Well that is not an easy Job.

“I wanted a child’s voice for a song and got Khatija to do it,” recalled Rahman, “The recording was at midnight and realising that, she said that she had school the next day and walked off. When I was discussing about calling someone else, she came back promptly and sung for it!”

Endhiran is, in fact, a perfect superstar album. Where the collection does manage to veer from the usual, Rahman has managed to add his own quirky, creative notes to the songs.

Parts of the album actually rise above the usual flattering themes and do create a unique musical experience. It might not be the brilliant effort reserved for off-beat works but this is a mainstream entertainer, and the maestro has put together numbers that make an intriguing listen.
