I personally think that the movie is worth watching, Gautham has again tried to be different. But I don't know about the reaction of the audience. Opportunities come once or twice, we should prove ourselves in those, this is what Simbu has done. Well done Simbu...you have proved that no good characters have been given to you. No 'punch' dialogues, no unnecessary action sequences, Simbu as simple as Simbu.
On the musical part Rahman has done a great job on backgrounds and as usual the songs make you sit on seats. Songs could have been shot better, I know its difficult but, the song videos were never as 'Vaaranam Aayiram'. 'Hosanaa' was the first to appear on screen, but was not at all shot well. Sorry Gautham, we expect more, please take it as a motivation. I'm not against you, I wanted to work with you, but I did not get a chance to do it. Every time, except 'Vaaranam Aayiram' and 'Vetaiyaadu Vilayaadu', you have missed it.
For instance, the song 'Anbil avan' - if I were the director, it would begin like this...
Song : Anbil avan
Location : Grasslands / Paris / any forts in europe.
Time : Day light
Costume : Long skirts with more pleats to lift till the head for trisha and white lose shirt and pants for simbu.
Opening music : for the half beat choir..
Action : Choir 01 : Trisha wings her skirt [open arms side ways] | Camera : Stable
Action : Choir 02 : Simbu bends thrisha holding her back, as a ballet dance. | Camera : Stable
Action : Choir 03 : Simbu pulling Trisha from left to right | Camera : Moving from right to left
Action : Choir 04 : Simbu pulls and kisses trisha...| Camera : From long and zoom in close to their kissing lips...and so on.
Song : Hosanaa
Location : Place with snow and Ice
Time : cool Day light
Costume : pleasant dressing for Simbu and slight cleavage opened for trisha in a orange full skirt.
Mood and dance : ROMANTIC Soft and light hugs and movements...
Trisha : Jessy, as the dialogue says, 'sexy too..' , thats very true, trisha is very sexy looking on just saree. She will attract your attention away from Simbu.
To be honest, both were brilliant!
Camera work was not bad, but did not attract much. Editing was good and sensible. Story is neat and clean, ' Young men has to decide their life for achievements and neglect the bad experience they get'.
Gautham, that was another piece of work to say your name. I wish I were a film maker, but it should be written....
Good work man.
