Indian Directors, most of them end their frames with a predictable climax and very rare movies have SENSIBLE twists and climax. Once such kind is Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, Gautham has done it beautifully, first he tells that all love between Trisha and Simbu ends in marriage, but once we think its all over he reveals that it happened so in the movie that Simbu [Karthick] directed.
Then he shows the reality that its not Trisha and Simbu but it was in the movie he shot. Then what happend to Simbu and trisha, its LOVE and its only LOVE...
I remember the 'Sixth sense' movie where only in the end you realise that Bruce Willis is a spirit too and it thrills a lot, same way Gautham has handled that technique very well.
As far as the tamil audiance, they may not like this different end but they will love it after 2 days of watching the movie.
Watch it in a theatre [good one like Satyam in Chennai]....
A.R.Rahman - definitely he deserves an Oscar again,
Simbu - Best acting, lot of potential in him has be brought out,
Gautham - He is simply great, he makes the Tamil film Industry proud again.
Folks Gautham + AR Rahman = Blockbuster has been proved.
